Yep, Gina was rude to me as well. Trying to make a couple days with my military son work having our whole family together for the first time in a very long time and when what we needed (6 person cabin) wasn't available I suggested the five of us all sleep in a four person for one night until a second 4 person would be available the next day (I was willing to get two 4 person cabins for just the 5 of us) and she turned mean on me. "There will be no holing up in one cabin for a night, no way, no ma'am". Wow. You've lost my business and hopefully anybody else's who reads this post. Gina did not try to listen to my situation, she was just interested in being rude.
Extremely rude lady that answered when I called. If you want business don't be so rude
Free WiFi network is available in the cabins or at the RV sites. You will be able to check email, look at Facebook, and surf the net, but the speed is such that you cannot download movies, stream music, watch YouTube, or sporting events. The whole campground shares the available data; the more you use, the slower it gets. Sometimes it stops for no reason. Thanks for sharing nicely with your fellow campers. Unplug, unwind, relax and enjoy your stay! If you cannot live without internet, we might not be the place to hang out!
Blue Mesa Escape was specifically chosen because the website said Wifi to check email and facebook is available; we note the addition now of a disclaimer that if you cannot live without the internet this may not be your spot. Had that disclaimer been in place when we reserved our cabin, we would not have stayed. We were unable to connect at any time during our three-day stay, even trying at 5 am on a Saturday. The owners do now post the following on their website:
Believe them. There isn't any internet. I work online and checking in was a requirement I had to go back into town to meet. The cabin was clean and well appointed. Water was hot; shower was good. On the down side, our cabin had a teeny tiny refrigerator with no operable freezer. We were up to celebrate our daughter's birthday and put ice cream in what looked like the freezer. We had ice cream soup. So don't plan on bringing much up for groceries, and definitely nothing you want frozen. At least in Cabin #1. It was a dorm-size refrigerator.
We loved staying here! Camped w our trailer for 5 days. Amazing views and terrific owners! Definitely coming back next summer!
Beautiful and quiet! This little pearl should be packed to capacity the entire RV season. Gina (one of the owners) is delightful and helpful. We will return when we're back this way. If you're heading to Blue Mesa/Gunnison/BlackCanyon, don't miss this RV Park! Susan Chaney Ransom
